I talk to a friend, we'll call him M. We discuss the idea of going to play disc golf sometime next week.

:::Awesome!!  I haven't played in years:::

M and I stay in touch over the next few days.  We text back and forth to figure out our schedules and what time will work best.
The day before we go to play I see an old friend of mine at the grocery store, we'll call him J.  Now J and I really don't see each other anymore; perhaps twice a year randomly somewhere around town.  No hard feelings, we just drifted apart by the river of life.  What's so interesting about this encounter is that J is a friend I used to play disc golf with.  In fact, I think he introduced the game to me!

What?  You don't thinks that's an interesting story?  Was it just a coincidence I happen to see my old disc golf buddy the day before I go to play again after a multi-year hiatus?

Well yes, it was just a coincidence, but why use the word just?  Why diminish what a coincidence is.  They are truly learning opportunities.  This coincidence really taught me the extent that our energy permeates.  The energy I had for this one fairly focused activity of setting up a disc golf time had resonated outwards.  Ripples were created.  They were forming and effecting my path.

So...
  • What are you thinking?
  • What are feeling?
  • What are you doing?
How are these things represented in your everyday life?  Look at it like a mirror.  What is life showing you about the energy you put out?

One definition of coincidence is: a remarkable concurrence of events or circumstances without apparent causal connection.

...without apparent causal connection...  I think there is a causal connection; it's just a matter of recognizing it.

...a remarkable concurrence...  That's a great description; it is remarkable!  Think about it. Interactions of energy make up our entire existence.  That's pretty remarkable.

Simply reducing something like a coincidence down to its definition is not honoring its significance.  It's not honoring the fact that you are a creative being.  Pay entire attention to coincidences and reflect on them.  Notice the power you have to shape your own life.

Now nothing life changing happened because of this encounter at the grocery store (as far as I can tell).  It's not like I had some premonition that allowed me to thwart some horrible catastrophe; that's not what most everyday spiritual encounters are all about.

These encounters can be a tool, a lesson, a gift; the trick is understanding what the message is.

    About

(Disclaimer: In general, I foresee these posts to be mostly spiritual in nature.)

We are all unique.  How we interact and experience all the different kinds of energy we come in contact with makes up our reality.  Our reality, our truth is uniquely ours.

All the books and websites that say what this stone means, or that color represents for example; I appreciate them.  I acknowledge that everything has its own energy, its own vibration.  Things of the same nature will understandably resonate in a similar fashion.
However, it's how one interacts with that particular energy at that particular moment that makes it unique.

I'm attempting to use this blog for two things.  One is simply personal, as an outlet to record and explore my own "moments of spirit."

The other is to hopefully show how these moments happen all the time.  This connection with Spirit doesn't have to be "other-worldly" or whatever label you want to use to describe it. You just have to be present enough to truly connect.
